The last day to register for the June 11 Special Election is Wednesday, May 22, by 8 pm. The Clerk's Office will be open until 8 pm. on May 22nd.

How to Vote Absentee

Do you have a kid in college who can vote in Arlington? Planning to be out of town on election day? Here’s how to vote absentee.

Requesting an absentee ballot

Absentee ballots are now available at the Clerk’s Office. You may request an absentee ballot in person, by mail, fax, or by email. A family member may request the ballot for you. The signature of the person making the request must be clearly visible.

To request an absentee ballot, visit or contact the Arlington Town Clerk. If the application is being submitted by email, you must submit a scanned copy of the absentee ballot request form.

  • Requests for absentee ballots must be made by noon on June 10.

  • If you are requesting by mail, fax, or email, please allow enough time for the ballot to be mailed to you and for you to return the ballot by 8 pm on June 11.

  • You may request and cast an absentee ballot in person at the Town Clerk’s office at Arlington Town Hall.

Returning your absentee ballot

Mail your absentee ballot to the Town Clerk’s office or return it in person. (Town Hall, 730 Mass. Ave). Your ballot must arrive at the clerk’s office by 8 pm on June 11.
